Cat Sonnet

My feet on the sidewalk go pitter pat

As I run to you in the dark moonlight

You are mine, or will be soon my sweet cat

I will never let you go, try, you might

As I wait for you to come to my arms

I think of what we can do together

I will name you Joseph, you won’t be harmed

And although I don’t know, him or her?

At night as I lay, I think of you. Yes

How we would cuddle and play all day long

If you came to my house I would let you rest

If wanting you is right then I’m not wrong

Joey, my dear friend, my dream may come true

If my living room window you prance through.
